Wisdom Wednesday | DEAR Program: Drop Everything And Read
On this Wisdom Wednesday, Hegemony Global School brought its
DEAR - Drop Everything And Read - program to life in the most engaging way yet.
In collaboration with The Hindu, students across the school
were handed the Student Edition of one of India's most respected publications.
The goal was simple and intentional: set aside the routine, unplug and immerse
in the joy of reading.
What followed was a room full of quietly engaged students -
each drawn to a section that genuinely interested them. Some gravitated toward
Sudoku, sharpening their logical thinking. Others lost themselves in crossword
puzzles, sports columns, short stories and art features. Every student found
their corner of curiosity.
The DEAR program is built on a clear belief - that reading,
when chosen freely, builds concentration, expands vocabulary and nurtures
empathy and awareness in ways structured lessons alone cannot.
The response from students was encouraging. The engagement
was natural, unhurried and real - exactly what the program intends to inspire.
At Hegemony Global School, Wisdom Wednesday is not just a
day on the calendar. It is a habit we are building - one page at a time.
