There is a special kind of excitement in watching young
learners take on words with courage and during our Literacy Week celebrations,
the Hegemony Global School community felt it in full. Our Grade 3 to 5 students
took part in the Spell Bee Competition, designed to strengthen spelling,
vocabulary, listening and oral communication skills.

The challenge unfolded across three exciting rounds. The Preliminary
Round was conducted section-wise, with words drawn from the Daily Routine
preparation list. In Word Detective, students studied picture clues and
had to identify and spell the word each image represented. The finale, the 90-Second
Spell-Off, was a rapid challenge in which each finalist spelled as many
words correctly as possible, with a maximum of three skips. Every correct word
counted towards the final score.

Beyond the medals, every participant showed confidence,
focus and a genuine love for words. Events like these help children build
vocabulary, sharpen their listening and grow into confident speakers and we
believe in starting early.

Here's to our young wordsmiths and to the many stages still
waiting for them.
